about
you cooked it
You Cooked It is a small family kitchen: Jay, Kelli and Walli 🐕 (head of quality control). Two young professionals who are always busy with work but love to cook, and who kept clocking the same thing every evening: more time went on finding a usable recipe than on cooking it. Scroll, popup, backstory, ad, another ad, and somewhere near the bottom, the ingredients.
Nothing in the recipe scene seemed in any hurry to change that, so we built the site we wanted to cook from. One recipe, one screen: a cook-along that walks with you from "prepping it" to "you cooked it", with step timers, a live serving scaler and a small celebration at the end. Because you did cook it.
How we cook. Every recipe is written for real UK home kitchens: metric measures, fan oven temperatures, supermarket ingredients and timings that were actually timed. Five new recipes drop every friday, and the friday five lands them in your inbox.
House rules, in writing. No fake reviews, ever. The cook-along stays ad-free, because nobody wants a popup with wet hands. Partners are always labelled and links are disclosed. And when we get something wrong, we fix it and say so.
If a recipe let you down, or you want us to cook something next: hello@youcooked-it.com. That is the most useful email we can get.
